Whether you’re in High School, College or Univerisity, a single professional, married, with or without children, employed or unemployed – no matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done – we invite you to experience God’s embracing love.
Please come and visit us at HDCC! We'd be honoured to have you!
When should I arrive?
We have two events each Sunday morning:
From 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. we have our Adult Bible Study Class in the Case Theatre. It is also during this time that we run our “Kingdom Kids” program for kids of all ages. Our main worship service starts at 11:00 a.m. and will continue for about one hour. Please come a few minutes early so that we can meet you! Where do I go once I’m in the Sobey Building? (903 Robie Street on the Campus of Saint Mary's University) The Case Theatre is located immediately to the left of the main lobby off of Robie Street.
What do you have for my children?
From 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. we run an incredible program called “Kingdom Kids” for all ages while the adults participate in their Adult Bible Study class. We encourage you to take your children to their appropriate classes. They'll probably have more fun in our Kingdom Kids program than in an adult Bible study class, however, if you feel most comfortable keeping your children with you, that is certainly welcome.
In the Kingdom Kids program there is music, crafts, a short lesson and lots of fun! We also offer special classes for Pre Teens and Teens. Each class is carefully planned and thought out. We also follow a series of strict guidelines to help ensure the safety of your child. An Usher will be more than happy to direct you and your children to the appropriate class when you arrive.
What should I expect when I come to your 11:00 a.m. Worship service?
You will be warmly greeted by one of our ushers, given a hand out that will contain some church family announcements and at times, an outline of the service. You are free to sit anywhere you are most comfortable. Our worship is a blend of contemporary and traditional styles of music and the messages are always Biblical, practical and relevant to your life.
We will also have the Lord's Supper (Communion) at some point during our worship service. The purpose of this is to commemorate and celebrate Christ's death on the cross on our behalf. Also, it is an expression of our gratitude to God for the wonderful gift of His Son. After the service, parents immediately pick up their children from our “Kingdom Kids" program. Everyone is then welcome to stay awhile meet new friends. If you have any questions before or after the service, or you just want to say hello, you are more than welcome to talk to our minister (he’s a pretty friendly guy) or with anyone one else from our congregation. Will I have to say anything, sign anything, or be singled out in any way?
No! Rest assured that you won't be put on the spot, singled-out, or embarrassed in any way. Someone will probably talk to you and say 'hello' but will not be intrusive - only warm and friendly! Sometimes we may ask our guests to fill out a card if they'd like us to visit them or pray for them, but if you'd prefer not to do so that's okay with us.
How should I dress?
There is no “dress code” at the HD Church of Christ. Come in what you are most comfortable with. We're a culturally diverse group and we cherish all of our differences!
Let us help you.
If you would like to talk about a personal concern, get more information on our church, or wish to have someone pray with you, please join us in room L 275. Our Care Team members have been trained to listen and encourage and they are eager to help you. Our prayer room is open from the time our worship service ends until 1 p.m.
